Quality

Since 1 January 2017 every health care institution is required to have a statute of quality. This statute describes how this institution upholds the legal standards and obligations. The statute is open to the public. Headway features an approved statute of quality. You can request a copy of this document at any time, please ask your therapist.

Privacy and GDPR

Psychologists are obligated to form a file about their clients and to keep the content updated. This file contains data necessary to provide quality health care. Your personal details, diagnosis, course of treatment and all forms of communication are stored in this file. In most cases this pertains sensitive information which is handled confidentially. All psychologists are bound to professional secrecy. Headway will not share any information or data with others without your explicit written consent to do so.

Due to the effect of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25 May 2018, Headway drafted a privacy statement. In this document you can learn which data is processed and the purpose of processed data. Also included in this document are your right to access and right to erasure of your personal data and/or file. A Dutch version of this privacy statement is available here

Regulation of complaints

Should the situation arise where you are dissatisfied with your treatment of therapist, it is recommended to discuss this with your therapist first. It may be a case of misunderstanding. Having a conversation about the nature of the dissatisfaction is often enough to clear up the misunderstanding from which treatment may continue. Should this prove insufficient in solving your dissatisfaction, you can file a complaint via the Netherlands Association of Psychologists & Psychotherapists in Independent Practice (LVVP). The LVVP will get you in touch with their complaints officials. If no solution follows you can also submit a complaint to an independent disputes committee. Contact details for both the complaints officials and the disputes committee are provided by the LVVP by clicking the link and searching their website.
