Excluded from treatment

Headway only offers treatment in the GBGGZ which is a Dutch acronym for 'generalistic basic (primary) mental health care' which focuses on short term treatments. Because of this there are some considerations and conditions to the type of problems admissible to treatment. The main condition is that patients are reasonably capable of functioning normally in their daily life despite of their problems. If suicidality, severe depression, psychotic symptoms, personality disorders, severe eating disorders or dissociative disorders are an issue, then Headway cannot admit you for treatment and you will be referred to a practice or institution specialised in these issues/disorders. Should you have doubts about whether your problems fall into one of these categories, you can always contact us for advice. Your therapist can help you assess if your problems are admissible for treatment at Headway.
